The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) would like to remind vendors and customers that the Government of Canada’s Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations (SUPPR) is being implemented in stages.
As announced last summer, the manufacturing and import of single-use plastic ring carriers for sale in Canada will be prohibited as of June 20, 2023.
To allow for a period of transition, the prohibition of the sale of beverage alcohol packaged in single-use plastic ring carriers will come into force as of June 20, 2024.
