As you may be aware, the union representing workers at Canada’s largest rail operators, CN and CPKC announced on August 8, 2024 that if a deal is not reached with their employer, they are prepared to take job action following a 13-day cooling-off period. The earliest potential job action could occur would be August 22, 2024.
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) recognizes this news may be concerning to our customers and agents.
We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with our agents and suppliers to determine if there are any potential delays on imports and out of province products.
