Important Service update: resumption of LDB Wholesale distribution

As announced on August 31, the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) resumed operations at our distribution centres and wholesale customer care centres. However, we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as it will take at least four weeks or more for service levels to return to normal.

This update is intended to provide guidance on what customers and suppliers can expect during this time.

Progress Update:

The distribution centres are continuing to fulfill orders for all customers that were received prior to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17 and we expect these orders will be shipped by the end of this week.  Once these orders have been completed, the distribution centres will start assembling and shipping all other outstanding orders in the sequence that they were received and consolidate with newer orders whenever possible. We appreciate your understanding that delivery timelines will be delayed until further notice.

Delivery Windows:

To ensure we can get product to customers as soon as possible, it is likely we will need to continue to deliver outside of normal delivery windows; unfortunately, we will be unable to provide delivery windows or ETAs for deliveries. This strategy will allow for the most efficient supply of product to customers and we will advise when we return to standard service.

We thank you in advance for your continued patience and flexibility.

The Wholesale Customer Centre (WCC) will notify customers once an order has been shipped from the distribution centre. We kindly ask that customers do not contact the distribution centres directly, please direct all inquiries to WCC at wholesalehelp@bcldb.com or call 604-775-0681 or 1-888-775-0681.

Important Changes:

  • Non-stocked wholesale product (NSWP) Orders: While we will attempt to deliver NSWP as soon as possible, it is likely there will be continued delays until further notice. The cancellation period has been extended to ensure customers with outstanding NSWP orders receive their product.
  • Appointment Booking Process: Appointments have been scheduled by Demand Planners until the end of this week, September 11. Starting today, September 6, we will resume our regular booking process and distribution centres will accept appointments for September 11 onward. Standing appointments will resume per regular schedule starting the week of September 11.

Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding that it will take several weeks for LDB liquor wholesale operations and service levels to return to normal.

We commit to providing regular progress updates to industry. Important notices will be posted here on the LDB Wholesale Operations website at wholesale.bcldb.com.
