Please be advised that the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) will no longer conduct annual inventory counts (AICs) at its distribution centres, effective immediately.  In their place, the LDB will perform robust cycle counts, which divide the count into smaller, manageable samples over a set period, and allow for continuous inventory accuracy checks without significant operational disruption.

Accordingly, it is no longer necessary to shutdown the LDB distribution centres for multiple days to perform AICs, as was typically required in past years.  Third-party agent warehouses (that store non-stock wholesale product and privately distributed import beer) are still required to conduct their own AICs, however, which may impact customer delivery timelines for certain products. The LDB will post an advisory in advance of those third-party agent warehouse AICs as soon as the timing is confirmed.
